The Sava Promenade takes on a different character in the evening. Once the heat drops and the river goes quiet, a stage goes up on the walkway in front of the towers and the music carries all the way to the water. The music evenings are free, they are outdoors, and they run for as long as the good weather lasts — usually from early summer to the end of September.
What to expect
The programme changes from night to night. Sometimes it is a live band, sometimes a DJ set, sometimes something quieter — jazz, acoustic covers, a small chamber ensemble. There are no tickets, no table reservations and no dress code. People arrive on their walk, stop, take a bench or a patch of grass, and stay as long as they feel like it.
The mood is family-friendly until around ten, after which the crowd drifts naturally towards the cafes along the water. Children are welcome, and in the early evening you will see them running along the promenade while their parents listen.
Getting there from our apartments
This is the closest thing we can possibly recommend. You step out of the building, walk down to the promenade and you are there — three to five minutes on foot, without crossing a single busy street. No parking to hunt for, no taxi, no late-night ride home.
A few tips
Come half an hour early if you want a bench right by the railing — that is the best view of the river and the lights of New Belgrade on the far bank. It is noticeably cooler by the water in the evening, so bring a light jacket or a jumper even after a warm day.
If you plan to have dinner before the programme, book a table in advance. Restaurants and cafes along the promenade fill up on nights like these, and the walk down to Beton hala takes about twenty minutes, so it is not a last-minute fix.
What else is nearby
If you arrive early, make an afternoon of it. Kula Beograd and its observation deck are a five-minute walk away, Galerija with its shops and cinema is four, and Savski park sits right beside the promenade. You can do the whole loop on foot, without transport.
