You can follow the Sava from Belgrade Waterfront all the way to Ada Ciganlija without a single traffic light. The path is flat, wide and separated from traffic, which makes it equally good for cycling, skating, running or an ordinary walk. Recreational rides and walks along the promenade are organised regularly, and even when there is no organised gathering the route is there waiting for you.<\/p>\n
You set off from the Sava Promenade, past the towers and Savski park, then upstream along the river. After a few hundred metres the city pulls back and there is nothing on your left but water. It is about five to six kilometres<\/strong> one way to Ada Ciganlija \u2014 half an hour at an easy pace on a bike, around an hour and a half on foot.<\/p>\n At Ada you can do a loop around the lake, stop for a coffee or lunch, and come back the same way. The whole outing, with a break, fits into half a day.<\/p>\n Bikes can be hired both in the complex and at Ada itself, and in recent years there have been e-scooters through apps as well. Small courses for children are often set up along the promenade, so you do not have to ride the full route for it to be worth their while.<\/p>\n Early morning and just before sunset. During the day, especially in summer, there is little shade by the water and the path can get hot. Autumn is ideal \u2014 the air is fresh, there are no crowds, and the colours along the river are at their best.<\/p>\n Bring water. On the stretch between the complex and Ada there are not many places to buy a drink, so it is better to set off prepared than to turn back.<\/p>\n Our apartments are a three-minute walk<\/strong> from the promenade, so there is no loading a bike into a car and no hunting for parking.
